General Construction on the Oregon Coast
Makoa Construction LLC is a licensed Oregon general contractor. We scope the job honestly, put it in writing, and build it for the conditions it actually has to stand up to.

Who we work with
Homeowners and property owners across Coos & Curry County
Most of our work is residential, for people who live in the house we are working on. Some projects are a single focused piece of work; others are larger and need planning, sequencing, and someone to hold the whole thing together. A general contractor's licence covers both.
If you are not sure whether your project is something we take on, ask. A straight answer costs you a phone call, and we would rather tell you early that something is not a fit than waste your time.
How estimates work
From first call to a scope you can hold us to
Tell us about the project
Send through what you have — a rough idea, a sketch, photos, or a full set of plans. There is no wrong starting point, and nothing to pay to find out whether we are a fit.
We walk the site
We come out and look at the actual conditions: access, drainage, exposure, and what is already there. Coastal properties rarely match what a plan assumes, and this is where that gets caught.
You get a written scope
A written scope and estimate showing what is included, what is not, and what we would flag as a risk. No vague line items, and nothing added later that was not discussed first.
We schedule the work
Once the scope is agreed we give you a realistic start window and keep you updated as it approaches.
How we run a job
Planning, scope, and staying in touch
Scope is agreed before work starts
The written scope is the reference point for the whole job. If something needs to change once work is underway — and on older coastal properties it sometimes does — we stop, explain what we have found, and agree the change with you before carrying on.
One crew, one point of contact
You are not chasing a call centre or a rotating cast of subcontractors for an answer. You know who is running your job and how to reach them.
Honest scheduling
The Oregon coast does not always cooperate. We would rather give you a start window we can hold to, and tell you early when weather moves it, than promise a date we already know is optimistic.
Licensed, bonded and insured
Makoa Construction LLC holds CCB #261336, which in Oregon requires a surety bond and general liability coverage. That is the same licensing and cover whether we are on a roof for two days or running a longer project.
Building here
What Oregon coast conditions change
Building in Coos Bay or Brookings is not the same as building inland. These are the things we plan around on every job, because they are what shortens the life of work that was otherwise done well.
Moisture is the default, not the exception
Wet seasons here are long. Detailing, flashing, and drainage decisions that would be adequate inland are the first things to fail on the coast, so they get scoped properly rather than assumed.
Wind-driven rain finds the gaps
Rain here does not just fall, it gets pushed sideways into junctions and penetrations. Where water is likely to be driven into an assembly changes how it should be built.
Salt air shortens material life
Fasteners, flashings and finishes age faster near the ocean. Material selection matters more here than the price sheet suggests, and we will tell you where spending a little more is worth it.
Ground and drainage vary street to street
Conditions change quickly across Coos and Curry County. Getting water away from the structure is planned for the property in front of us, not from a template.
